About Clint
Clint Childs is running for City Council because Tyler is ready to grow - not just bigger, but better. He’s committed to protecting what makes our community special while embracing ideas that will make life better for families, businesses, and neighborhoods across District 4.
Clint and his wife, Brittany, have called District 4 home since 2009. As a Tyler native and proud graduate of Bell Elementary, Moore Middle School, and Robert E. Lee High School, Clint knows this community inside and out. After Baylor, he came home to earn his MBA from The University of Texas at Tyler and build a career in real estate and small business. He has also given back through service on boards like PATH, the City of Tyler Main Street Board, and Leadership Tyler, as well as serving as a Tyler Tomorrow Steering Committee Member and a Planning & Zoning Commissioner.
Clint understands what makes Tyler great, as well as our challenges, because he’s lived them. And he knows how to get results that will strengthen our community for the next generation.
On The Issues
Never Forget the Basics
Safe neighborhoods. Clean water. Streets that get us where we’re going safely and quickly. These aren’t luxuries, they’re the essentials. Clint will work on these priorities, especially for District 4’s older neighborhoods, making sure the basics get done right.
Maximizing Quality of Life
Tyler has made impressive strides with parks, trails, and community spaces. Now it’s time to make sure these investments deliver their full value by encouraging use, strengthening connections, and making them central to everyday life in District 4.
Growing Our Economy
District 4 is home to TJC, world-class hospitals, major industries, and countless small businesses. Clint will champion every one of them, connecting entrepreneurs to opportunity and making sure local businesses have a seat at the table.
Protecting Our Families
Tyler can’t grow unless we continue to prioritize safety. Clint will back Police and Fire with the tools, training, and resources they need to keep our city secure and our neighborhoods protected.
